The Gramercy Pilates Institute curriculum is packed with easy to follow lesson plans, teaching techniques and modifications for teaching on mat, reformer and and all Pilates equipment.

 The information is supported by high quality photographs and illustrations. In addition the curriculum includes lesson plans and tests with answer keys

Our Integrated Teacher Training Program offers a much higher level of learning than any other Teacher Training Certification Program.


Gramercy Pilates Institute Curriculum

The 465 page curriculum includes:

1. The Mat Program Manual: Photo’s, teaching techniques, detailed cueing, modifications and tips.

  • Section I: Pilates History

  • Section II: Introduction of the Skeletal and Muscular SystemsBiomechanics

  • Section III: Integration of Anatomy, Biomechanics and Movement Science Principles

  • Section IV: The Five Categories of Effective Cueing

  • Section V: The Art of Observation

  • Section VI. Classical Mat Choreography with Contemorary Modifications

 

2. The Equipment Program Manual: Photo’s, teaching techniques, detailed cueing, modifications and tips.

  • Section I: Beginner Level Choreography on the Reformer and Cadillac

  • Section II: Intermediate Level Choreography on the Reformer, Cadillac and Wunda Chair.

  • Section III: Advanced Level Choreography on the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair Barrel and Spine Corrector.

  • Section IV: Facilitating Client Alignment- includes over 20 various bony and soft tissue touches and stretches to help facilitate client alignment.

  • Section II: Special Populations – covering over 15 conditions including  all Postural and Back issues, Knee and Hip issues, Neck and Shoulder issues and more. Includes Symptoms, Protocal, Pilates exercises and precautions.

  • Section IV: Advanced Teaching Methods and Techniques includes specific instruction on client intake, assessment, session goals, creating and organizing sessions for both clients new to Pilates, clients who are experienced, special population clients and other “problem clients”.

 

3. Teaching Tools: All the tools needed to successfully implement the curriculum. Including:
